How in the Hell do I Subscribe to a Blog?
We might as well go ahead and say that a "why subscribe" button is mandatory for all bloggers.
I have been out promoting my blog through word of mouth advertising lately and I have come across many people who have no idea what RSS is or what subscribing means. Well this post is going to be my "why subscribe" explanation for all of you who don’t know.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not angry or frustrated that you don’t know what these things are. I am just surprised that with the wide spread use of the Internet usage these days, that so many people have no idea about RSS and subscribing. It is rather simple once I explain it to you. So here is exactly what you need to know.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.
RSS is a way to subscribe(receive automatically) to media streams such as blog posts, videos or music, etc.
For example:
If you subscribe to this blog, then each new post created will be sent to you via a feed reader or through email. In the sidebar of my home page you will see a section to enter your email address to subscribe. When you do you will get an email with a confirmation link. Once you click to confirm, you will then receive every post I create automatically.

This is the standard RSS icon. Whenever you see it then there will usually be an option to subscribe to what you are reading. There are different programs called readers. This is a place to keep track of all your subscriptions at once.
You can also subscribe via email. This is the preferred way for most bloggers. It creates a direct relationship with your readers. They will get your latest work sent directly to their email box. This is the way I prefer you subscribe to this blog.
If this is still not clear then you can watch this video. If it is still not clear after that then you should email me and I will come to your house and walk you through it.
Have you subscribed yet? Use the form below. If you prefer to use a reader, click here.
If you don’t know what this means click here.

I’m probably old-fashioned but I just subscribe to blogs through Bloglines (they have this thingie that goes into your favorites and you just click that link when you want to add a blog to your list). I’m going to subscribe to yours now as a matter of fact.
